Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hi everyone! Hope this posts finds you well,

Back in 2010 the mother of all palettes was due to be released. Urban Decay teased us with editorials and posters and we knew it was going to be a good'un! The Naked palette comprises of 12 eyeshadows, seven of which are permanent best sellers. Urban Decays description of ‘neutral’ is modest; with this palette you can go from a natural, everyday look to a glamorous night time look within seconds.
Low and behold the palette of utter goodness;
The palette is £36 which is a very good price for 12 eyeshadows, an eyeshadow brush and a mini primer! You will definitely get your moneys worth. When the palette newly came out it was sold out literally every week! It was so popular and so much in demand people were paying crazy amounts for it on eBay, it even once sold for over £100! With this palette you have a range of matt and shimmery colours, a perfect all-rounder! It feels like such a luxury product with its velvet casing. I personally love this palette because it’s far better than carrying around lots of single eyeshadows. You have your pale highlight colours, shimmery champagne tones then your neutral tones suitable for blending and finally shades suitable for a smoky eye! This product is the most versatile palette i have ever come across. It is also perfect for traveling with, its light and compact and also has a handy little mirror! I always take this palette away with me, be it a weekend away or a weeks holiday out in the sun.
With the older palettes you got a free double ended eye pencil, they have since replaced it with an eyeshadow brush which is also very good. You also get a mini-primer potion with it too!

The colour pay off is exeptional, with the primer potion included they last all day without a single smudge!

♥ Virgin - a pale pink pearl shade, ideal for highlighting
 ♥ Sin - a shimmery pink shade
♥ Naked - a matt beige brown shade, perfect for blending

♥ Sidecar - a shimmery champagne colour, i love this colour all over the lid

♥ Buck - a matte brown colour, good for blending or all over the lid

♥ Half Baked - a bright shimmery gold colour

♥ Smog - a deep shimmery gold colour

♥ Darkhorse - gorgeous chocolate brown colour with slight shimmer

♥ Toasted - a pink/peach eyeshadow with a hint of shimmer

♥ Hustle - deep burgundy shade with slight shimmer
♥ Creep - beautiful deep black with particles of glitter
♥ Gunmetal - an intense grey charcoal colour with shimmer

(some of the shades look very glittery in this particular picture, they are not that disco-bally in real life)

So there you have it, potentially the best high end eyeshadow palette that I have ever come across, I will definitely be repurchasing once I hit pan. Overall i love this palette and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to purchasing a versatile palette!

With the success of the Urban Decay Naked pallete, last year they brought out the quite aptly named Naked Palette 2, I haven’t tried it but I am keen to do so. They have since also brought out a whole new set of products in this range such as foundations, nail polishes, blush/contour/highlight set, lip crayons and more!

You can purchase yours from Debenhams, they also provide free delivery on all beauty products and if you have a beauty club card you can collect points too!

I hope you enjoyed my post, please do let me know what your favourite eyeshadow palette is?

  2. I loved your review and I completely agree with it! The colour payoff really is incredible and I always love when UD palettes come with the primer potion as I'm so obsessed with it and it can be pricey to buy individually!
