Diy Paper Peonies

White room, little hints of pastel pink, peonies... yes I do sit on Pinterest a little too much. Peonies are one of my all time favourite flowers, they are so pretty and the fact they come in different colours  and variations means that you can always change up the feel of a room. I have never come across any real peonies so I was then on the hunt for a few fake ones. The ones I saw weren't the style/colour I was after and also they looked a little tacky so I thought why not make my own, not only will it be cheaper but knowing you have made them your self makes them a little more special.
I apologise in advance for the lighting in the photos, the weather was terrible today but I really wanted to get this post up after so many requests! Think I might invest in some soft box lighting.
____
You will need:
Tissue paper (cheapest I have found - £1.45 for 10 sheets)
PVA glue
Florist wire (or bamboo skewers)
Scissors
___
For the flower heads you will need 2 different sized circles, the biggest should be 3 inches, and then the smaller one should be around 3cm smaller. (In all honesty I didn’t use measurements) With the tissue paper fold over the squares twice over and then cut a curve round the edge to make the circular shape.
___
You will need 8 bigger circles and 6 small circles.
Next you need to cut scalloped shapes on the edges. Then in order to make the peonies less flat and more textured you need to crumple them up, just be careful though as the tissue paper is quite delicate.
____
Now to make the flower we will start from bud to end, so take your wire and make a small hook shape on the end in order to hold the flower. (or if using a bamboo skewer put a small ball of blue tack over the end). Next feed through one of the smaller circles and apply a dot of glue to the top of the wire. Twist the circle around the top of the wire until a bud is formed. Repeat this with the other 3 smaller circles.
___
Now on to the main flower use all of the bigger circles and use the same method as before, ensure you keep a hold of the bottom of the flower so the wire doesnt come loose. It is hard to photograph this but just slide the paper through the wire and add a dot of glue to the bottom part of the bud, then twist the circle around the wire.
____
To even the flower out you need to add 2 more of the smaller circles around the bottom, and once again use the same method as before. Slide the circle up the wire, add a dot of glue to the center and twist.
______
Now your flower is complete, you can leave the flower as is with the meal wire or like me you can paint it green, although to be honest painting it green was a little pointless as once in the glass it isn’t visible.
I hope you enjoyed this post, I love the way the flowers turned out and they are so simple and easy to make. They complete the room. Let me know what you think in the comments.

DIY Magazine holder

Whilst looking to organise my desk recently I realised just how expensive it was to buy office related equipment. So I made two magazine/book holders and thought it would be great to share as it literally cost nothing to make; and I think they turned out pretty good. I got the inspiration from a blog I came across recently but I can’t find the link now!

All you need is a cereal box and some wrapping paper of your choice and then tape it on. I actually used wallpaper as it is a lot thicker and durable. Super simple and cheap whilst still looking fabulous!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I can’t believe it is December already, I am so excited for vlogmas. Guaranteed I will compile playlists each day and watch them whilst putting everything else that needs to be done on hold. Standard.

PS. I am contemplating Blogmas (blogging everyday in December) It seems like a big commitment though and I have never really believed in posting  just for the sake of it. I don’t know, thoughts? If I did they would be based around beauty, fashion, lifestyle and I might even write up some more chatty style posts which I don’t really do.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think and if you have any desk staples!

Rosegold heart ring tray

This little heart tray is fab for storing little dainty rings. I glammed it up a little with the help of a Rose Gold nail varnish and dotted it on; I think it looks pretty cute.

Let me know what you think?

Desk Inspiration.

I have found myself spending ALOT of time on Pinterest as of late. It makes me happy. That is all. I have been obsessing over the desks pictures and seriously regret throwing mine away a few months ago, my reasoning was no more course work; no need for a desk.

I enjoy making inspiration boards but I thought this time I would make it in a blog post form.

Here are a few desk inspiration pictures I have been loving, I know once payday comes around I will be attempting to recreate one of these designs! They all have a similar theme; white wood, pretty florals, pastel detailing, twinkly lights and a beaut iMac (the iMac is not an option at the moment *sigh*)

Images taken from Tumblr & Pinterest respectively

I hope this post provided inspiration to you too! I know I will be compiling a list this week full of things to buy, I’m excited!

Veggy Stuffed Pepper!

I’ve been enjoying cooking these last few weeks and my all time favourite has got to be stuffed peppers!

I didn’t follow a set recipe for this so it was all a guessing game really. All you need is some peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and mashed potatoe. You can chose to either grill or fry your pepper just until its soft. Whilst you do that fry the onions, mushrooms and tomatoes in oil, add salt and pepper and then mix it together with your mashed potatoe. Then pop it into the pepper and add some grated cheese on the top.

Simples!

Let me know if you try this recipe?

Pineapple juice in a pineapple cup!

Summer is here and there is nothing better than having a refreshing drink to cool you down.
I have been spending a lot of my time on Pintrest looking for inspiration for a revitalising drink and I came across a lot of pineapple juice cups!

I made my own non alcoholic version and it tasted so good!

All I did was cut the top off, scoop out all the pineapple and then pop it into a blender! This is super healthy because it is 100% pineapple juice. Leave it in the fridge for a few hours and then sit out in the sun and enjoy!
