REVIEW: Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan £7.99

A 1 hour tanning mousse that actually gives great results!

I had read so many good reviews about the Cocoa Brown 1 hour tanning mousse that it was silly not to try it! Aptly named the Cocoa Brown tan was created by award winning Melissa Carter who started her own business at just 21.

This tanner is a mousse which I would say is the easiest and will give you a faultless application for a majority of the time. The packaging is also very girly with the bright pink! Unlike other mousse tanners I have tried the Cocoa Brown tan mousse’s consistency is actually quite thick; it’s not just foam. I feel this helps provide a much smoother application.

I applied mine with a tanning mitt - I would recommend working in small areas as the skin absorbs it really quickly. This tan works in layers so depending on the colour you are wanting you would go over the area again. I applied two layers and you can see the results!

Unlike most tans the Cocoa Brown tan doesn’t have the typical ‘biscuity’ smell. It actually is floral scented. Now i’m personally quite sensitive to floral scented products so i did sneeze quite a bit but would I put up with that for the impressive results? Yes, I would indeed! At £7.99 how can you turn down a product that has such great results.

Cocoa Brown tan has recently launched in Superdrug, also sold at Primark, you can view the full range here- www.cocoabrown.ie

VITA LIBERATA tanning kit!

My last tanning post seemed to be quite popular so I thought I would write up about another tanning product I have come across. I was recently contacted by Vita Liberata to review a few products of my choice, I chose the tanning mousse in medium and the illuminating skin finish in gold.

The actual tanner is a mousse formally which ensures even application and distribution. I actually like the smell of this one, it smells very similar to biscuits.

The illuminating finish moisturiser is a thick cream packed with golden shimmers which is a must have for after tanning! It accentuates your tan and also contains an SPF of 25 which is perfect.

The results?! The application was simple and easy, make sure you exfoliate before hand. Because I am tan already there wasn’t that much of a dramatic difference in terms of colour, I feel I should have gone for the dark version. My skin did however look a lot more even toned and slightly more bronzed. The illuminating skin finish eventuated this so I did see some results atleast. I am happy with the result and I will be making a cheeky order of the darker version soon!

RODIAL BRAZILIAN TAN review

Hello,

I think it’s been a week since I last blogged. I have had such a stressful week, but life goes on.

As I was browsing through magazines the other day I came across the Elle mag. I am a sucker for the freebies magazines sometimes have, I would buy a magazine just for the product! Does anyone else do this? In this months Elle magazine, they have included a small sized Rodial Brazilian self tanner. I have never used fake tan before so i grabbed the magazine!

The blue 58ml plastic bottle comes with a tube style packing. It is quite a generous size for a sample. This particular Rodial tanner is advertised as being clear. So when you apply it, you won’t get really nasty orange hands, nor will it transfer on your clothes.

2 days ago was the first time I had ever used fake tan, i was intrigued! The consistency is like a lotion, it comes out as an almost pearly white colour and soaks into your skin clear.

I applied it on my arms just to test it out. The application is easy and fuss free, it is very similar to applying a body moisturiser. I applied it without a mitt because I didn’t think it would actually work to be honest because i am already slightly tanned. The palms of my hands were slightly orange but nothing too noticeable. I left it on overnight and when I woke up in the morning I had a tanned part of my hand! It actually worked! The next day I was shocked! It came out so good, like a natural tan. I think it may depend on your natural skin colour how the end result comes out but I am very happy with it. I’m also tempted to use it on my face.

As you can see from the picture above I left a part free just to see if there would actually be a difference, and yes it is noticeable, so I will be re-tanning that area today. This was my first go applying tan so there was some parts I missed haha. But all in all, I am so pleased with this product! What I want to do now is go on my Summer holiday! Once it runs out I will more than likely be purchasing a full sized version.

Have you ever came across a sample product and loved it? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, thank you for reading!
