For someone who has or does suffer with acne getting rid of any remaining marks is top priority...
I had little to no marks once my acne had gone away - I wasn’t following any particular skin care routine aside from the Clinque - Anti blemish range. It wasn’t until very recently after using a product did my acne break out again and leave me with marks. Understandably this came at a shock so I went on the hunt to look for something to fade or completely get rid of the marks.
Whilst I was getting my normal cleanser, toner moisturiser in Clinique the sales assistant recommend the Dark spot corrector. They say "Dermatologist-developed to be safe, comfortable. Yet in clinical trials our serum was comparable to a leading prescription ingredient in visibly reducing dark spots-a verified 58% improvement at 12 weeks. For all skin tones: See results starting in just 4 weeks, with a visible reduction in age spots and acne scars. Also appropriate for backs of hands and chest, too."
This serum has to be used before moisturiser and I was told to use it with an SPF lotion only. 99.9% of the time I look into product reviews before purchasing to see other peoples thoughts and experiences, but I didn’t with this one.
Cons - I have now finished it after around 4 months and can’t say I’ve seen any drastic changes - no changes for that matter. The few acne scars I have and dark spots are still there. At £40 this has actually been the most money I have ever spent on a single makeup item and I am annoyed at the fact it didn’t live up to its price tag! Other products are available on the market which are cheaper and work a lot quicker.
Pros - When you initially apply the serum and then the sun screen your face appears to be very even toned and any dark areas seemingly fade. Although I’m not too sure if that is the serum or the sun screen!
The next time I invest in a beauty product I will have to thoroughly research!
EDIT: This post was written up weeks ago but I hadn’t published it. Since finishing the product I came across another product that has worked amazingly well! All the acne marks have gone. You can read about it here.
Have you used a product like this before? Or spent a lot of money on a beauty item and were disapointed?

Oh no, sorry this didn't work on you! I normally read reviews first too but typical the one time you don't and it doesn't work :( x

So annoying isn’t it? Definitely will make sure I read reviews all the time now before purchases!
DeleteHey chick, I found this really rubbish too, I did the 12 week trial and did three updates on my blog, I think your meant to use this for 12 weeks before noticing anything too drastic...it's still rubbish though. I don't think any of these types of products really work, at the KIEHLS counter they told me it can take like 7 months to really notice a difference ... X

Ah sorry to hear that! It is so overpriced! I’m glad I found a product that did work though!

ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a corrector and I'm so glad I came across your blog! I've been debating whether to invest in this for a while but now I definitely won't! Happy 2014 xx http://www.alicsantics.com/
ReplyDeleteGlad it helped. The other product I recommended on the post is amazing! x

Haha, thank you for the comments! :) I really recommend the other product! x
DeleteYou should try Palmers dark spot corrector, it's brilliant. Don't wear it in the day cause it will make you look like Edward Cullon when he steps out in the sun, but if you use it on a nightly basis it's brilliant.
